Keep Delta St an unmade laneway!

0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!

Delta St in Surrey Hills, abutting South Surrey Park, offers a unique environment to visitors and residents alike … a chance to stroll down a ‘country lane’, complete with rainbow lorikeets and kookaburras.

Sadly, Council is proposing to bitumen seal this laneway thus destroying its unique character.

If, like the majority of Delta St residents, you would like to stand up against this so called ‘upgrade’, and preserve what is precious to so many, please support the Friends of Delta St and sign the petition.

Why this is not a good idea:

  • Delta St is living history – the LAST significant unsealed road in Boroondara.
  • The overwhelming majority of residents surveyed by council do not want to bitumen seal this laneway.
  • Delta St is a popular, safe pedestrian access to South Surrey Park.
  • Car speeds will increase on a sealed road, thus compromising the safety of pedestrians.
  • A sealed road is likely to increase traffic and negatively impact on the surrounding wildlife.

You can help SAVE PARADISE

Come and wander down Delta St. See what we have to lose.
