To deny that institutionalised racism exists is giving it voice and credibility, additionally and denying the lived experiences of millions of ethnic minority populations in the UK. This is wrong, unacceptable, and shameful.

It’s not enough to speak out against its conclusions on social media or TV, Press appearances. We must do more. We want this report debated in Parliament and more importantly withdrawn. It is not a reflection of the lived experiences of ethnic minority populations in the UK

Let’s tell Boris Johnson that people from Black, Asian and Minority ethnic populations reject the Tony Sewell report which concluded that there was no evidence of “institutional racism” in the UK.

The report also stated that policy initiatives should be “designed to remove obstacles for everyone, rather than specific groups.” In the workplace, this will enable employers who do not wish to progress ethnic minority employees focus on their favourite in-group talent with others left behind never to catch up. This will impact ethnic minority employees very negatively and they will be left behind.

This report details 24 recommendations, we have moved beyond recommendations after recommendations from previous Commissions and reports which were convened over the years with detailed findings and recommendations on how the UK Government should take steps to reduce institutional racism and inequality, but Nothing has changed. What we want to see is action and government tackling racism instead of sweeping it under the carpet.

Tell Boris Johnson this report is a whitewash, false and misleading.  We want this report withdrawn and rejected.
