With the cancellation of A Levels and the closure of secondary schools nation wide, Year 13 students are extremely concerned about what the future of their education holds, for those attending universities across the U.K., or even internationally.

So far there has been little coverage of what these universities plan for how students will study in the forthcoming autumn term when they begin the new school year. Students do not know whether their lectures will be online, or those who are beginning degrees with aspects of study such as studio work or lab work have no idea whether this will be possible for them. Cambridge has announced that all of their lectures in the coming year will be online. Why have other universities not made statements?

This is a call for universities to simply, make their intentions clear for how they will operate. We understand that we may not have all the data needed about COVID-19 yet in order to fully decide yet what the possibilities will be. However, when that data is collected and those decisions are made, make them clear so students can make the best possible decisions on whether to begin their degree this year or defer.
