We cannot fail this vulnerable group who may not have parents or carers to support them during this very frightening time. It is crucial the government ensures they continue to receive the support of their local authorities and other named corporate parents. Would you stop supporting your child when they were at their most vulnerable? I think not, so why is this even being considered. Shame on you 

Absolutely ludicrous, parents don't end their duty because their children leave home so what's the difference? Theres enough resources for all, money is man made stop trying to oppress & control situations; God is in control and he loves us all

As a disabled care leaver already put in a placement that doesn't meet my needs and is very frightening, all I really have is my legal right to support. My Local Authority already barely meet their legal requirements and will, without a doubt, completely refuse to if they don't legally have to. Last week I had to self-isolate under government and NHS guidelines and my LA (who this was officially reported to) didn't ask me how I was, respond to my emails asking for help getting food and left me without electricity because I wasn't allowed to leave my flat to top it up!

The system consistently fails people it is supposed to be looking after whilst in their care, and these vulnerable people are 'set adrift' far earlier than their peers. There can be nothing worse than feeling you could be totally un-missed by anybody at such a young age.

Failing to support this vulnerable group of young people whose life chances are already significantly less than everyone else’s is morally reprehensible.
