The new rule that came into effect on November 1st should be rebranded as a penalty fee or paying for privilege of dropping off loved ones at Heathrow - an additional charge for a company that is already operating one of the most expensive airport operations!

We suspect the fee is introduced to recover some of the losses endured by Heathrow (2 billion pounds) due to the pandemic and it comes at the customers' expense - the fee is unjustifiable and a better detailed explanation is needed. Other leading European nations are also on track with similar climate goals to those adopted by Heathrow but yet you don't see extortionate goodbye fees being rolled out.

A better regulatory process is needed to scrutinise the unjust charges rolled out by Heathrow and to protect the customers. This petition calls for the removal of the fee and calls on Heathrow Airport to review their actions in the wake of achieving net zero and controlling air quality.
