Rosanna Pugh started this petition to Boris Johnson

More children starving, and Boris Johnson has turned his back. Yemen is facing what is being described by the UN as the ‘worst famine in decades’ with 60 million people going hungry and 400,000 children at risk of severe, acute malnutrition. These people are dying now. The Civil war has been raging for years. The Yemeni government and Saudi lead coalition backed by the UK are currently fighting the Houthi rebels in Yemen. This conflict has left may supplies restricted. It can be unsafe to leave towns. The people have been starved of money.

Whoever’s side you are on; we cannot support the starvation of millions. This is a crisis for humanity. Children are dying, and the most recent development from Boris Johnson? A halving of the aid budget going to Yemen. According to his own MP’s, Boris’ plan could be a death sentence for many of the innocent civilians relying on aid from the UK.  Yet, Boris is trying to get this cut through parliament without a vote. Yemen is on the brink of losing an entire generation to famine. The situation is past desperate. If wealthy countries like the UK fail to support Yemen, millions could die. Boris has turned his back. Yet, if the UK continues to offer support to Yemen, then thousands could be saved. This will not only be a win for Yemen, but a win for the world and human unity. Please help encourage Boris Johnson to continue to keep the aid budget stable to provide food and finance to the people of Yemen. Stop this inhuman suffering. By signing this petition, we are putting pressure on the government to stop cutting the aid budget, and to start saving lives. Thank you.
