Bounce Back Loans given to businesses were to assist them with Invoices and overheads to stay afloat through the next three months of lockdown. They were not to be used for salaries or personal expenses but purely for supporting the business. The government promised no repayments for 12 months giving businesses a full 12 months of income to rebuild stock and cash flow before having to repay these loans. Many businesses including mine had been locked down with no customers at all for 9 months out of 12 and like many are now being forced to repay these huge loans without having traded at all. 

Small businesses are the lifeline of the United Kingdom, if they disappear it’s not just the owners who suffer. It’s not fair or reasonable to compulsorily shut down a business and make them borrow their way out of trouble and then make them repay the debt having no income to do so. The government should convert BBL’s to Grants and allow small companies to build back up to where they were prior to lockdown. This affects everyone down the line. Please help save small businesses from permanent closure by getting this onto the Prime ministers agenda.
