Zoo's have been told to remain closed indefinitely due to the current COVID-19 virus. Zoo's like Chester Zoo have made arrangements and have adapted to comply with the current social distancing measures. The government, however, have still said that they must remain closed. People have been flocking to beaches and parks with measures not being adhered to, yet the zoo has made adaptions to comply and still can't open. Animals, already at risk, are in further danger of becoming extinct because the income isn't there. They are a charity and so completely rely on people going there. As a member of the zoo I frequently see the efforts made by their dedicated team and the conservation work they do abroad to preserve the animals habitat and nature. Hard-working staff have continued to support the animals there and to provide online education to the children and adults. For many years they have worked so hard to be so successful. 

The zoo also provides a huge contribution to the local economy, bringing custom from all areas of the country. Without the zoo being open, Chester will suffer massively. The energy the zoo uses is sustainable, not to mention the contribution they make to the world by only using and selling Fairtrade products. Keeping the zoo closed will not only impact this country but the world!
