On the 22nd March, Ghana closed its borders due to the Covid-19 crisis, including to Ghanian nationals. Other African countries, such as Nigeria and South Africa have since repatriated their citizens from various locations and we are calling on Ghanian officials to do the same for its citizens.

Many Ghanaians have now run out of funds to sustain them here in the UK and are stranded here without any family. With no end to the border closure in sight, this issue is now of grave concern. We have tried to contact the Ghanian embassy in London but they are closed and there has been no response when trying to contact them through other platforms.

We are therefore calling on Boris Johnson and Dominic Raab to apply pressure on Ghanian officials to bring Ghanian citizens back home!
