Hammersmith bridge has been closed to vehicle traffic since April 2019, for the last 2 weeks it has been closed to pedestrian traffic as well. There are thousands of children affected with their school journey extended by an hour, not to mention loss to businesses, inconvenience to residents and longer journey to hospitals north of bridge putting patients at risk.

Conservatives promised a speedy solution if they win majority, but this promise was also broken like many others. Many a petition have been sent to Grant Shapps without any response. 

TFL has lost too much revenue to repair and replace with government input. If we can build a  1000 hospital in one week, we can build an emergency bridge at least to give pedestrian access.

We urge the Prime Minister to intervene and ease the daily misery these children are experiencing through long commutes to school. We are trying to start living our lives as normal as possible but the long commutes will discourage people from sending children to school, working from offices and visit businesses. This is counter productive to our efforts to save the environment as there will be excessive number of cars sitting in gridlock traffic adding to pollution.
