We want Turkey to be removed from the red list.

Remove Turkey from the red list for international travel. Turkey has been on the red list for more than three months. Millions of people from the U.K go to Turkey every year. Many families are stuck in Turkey separated from their families and children in the U.K and cannot afford the price of quarantine hotel and can do nothing other than waiting for Turkey to be removed from the red list.

There are children in Turkey stuck with their families unable to come to the U.K and are going to miss their first weeks off school and most importantly their education.

According to NHS figures, 1.7 per cent of people arriving from Turkey tested positive for Covid-19 during the latest three week time period. This is the same rate as Spain, which is on the amber list and this is unfair because Turkey and Spain have the same rate of people testing positive but Turkey still remains on the red list whereas Spain is on the amber list.

On August 8 India has been removed from the red list and was placed on the amber list by the UK government, until today In India only 10.8% of the population have been fully vaccinated whereas In Turkey 45.2% of the population have been fully vaccinated which has a higher vaccination rate than India, but still remains on the red list.

I am happy of course that India had been removed from the red list onto the amber list because it will benefit the people who would need to travel to India and from India to the UK without the need to quarantine in the hotel. But I expect the UK government to make it fair.
