UK should share Covid vaccine with Nepal

UK should share Covid vaccine with Nepal
Why this petition matters
The second wave of the Covid virus is killing thousands of people in Nepal
Our colleagues in Nepal and Nepal Prime Minister K.P Sharma Oli, have issued an urgent plea to the UK Government for a share of their Covid vaccine stocks.
Less than 2% of Nepal’s population is fully vaccinated and further supplies suspended because of the situation in India. This is increasing the risk of further virus mutation with global epidemiological implications.
Since May 2020, the UK Government’s vaccine taskforce have secured orders from seven different vaccine manufacturers—a total of 400 million doses or enough to vaccinate the entire UK population three times over. https://www.bmj.com/content/372/bmj.n421
The people of Nepal are some of the poorest in the world, but over 200 years have fought for and on behalf of the United Kingdom – it is time to share some of our vaccine stock with Nepal, all of which we cannot possibly need.
Please share our vaccine stockpile with Nepal.
