Litter in all it’s forms has become an environmental catastrophe. More and more people seem to think that it is okay to leave litter and pollute other people’s neighbourhoods and environment.

Much of this litter is drinks bottles or cans of all types and recently ‘throw away’ barbecues.

we propose that a substantial deposit is paid on each bottle or drinks can so that they are more likely to be redeemed for a rebate.

If there is a rebate to be obtained it is more likely that the ‘owners’ of the bottles or in their absence anyone else could be encouraged to pick up and redeem the rebates due.

this works well in Norway and Germany where the bottles and cans are inserted into a type of vending machine and rebates obtained directly.  You will see very little litter there!
