Many 17 year olds and above have been waiting too long to sit their practical driving tests and a lot have been having on and off lessons due to COVID. We have recently been told that you can meet outdoors with one other person but you can’t sit in a car with a mask on, with windows down, in a sanitised car for driving lessons or tests? It doesn’t make sense, it’s not fair for them to not be able to have their official driving licences when a lot of them can drive perfectly fine!

I want this petition to reach Boris to kindly demand he allow driving lessons and tests to continue or at least allow licences to be awarded by driving instructors who know what their individual is capable of!

It is not only the students that are suffering here, how are driving instructors going to earn money to provide for their families?! I think this lockdown is necessary for the UK however meeting with one person outside seems to me not very different to being in a car with windows down and a mask on! People need the freedom of driving, it is a privilege! Driving instructors need the work to provide for themselves and their families! Keeping tests and lessons running allows instructors to take on more students once their current students pass their tests and keep a steady income of money without overwhelming fear of barely getting by and having to borrow or loan money.

If this reaches parliament or even Boris himself, ALLOW DRIVING TESTS AND LESSONS TO CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THIS LOCKDOWN!!!
