Tyler Hinton started this petition to Boris Johnson (Prime Minister) and

Children are currently having to sit their English GCSE exams having stored quotes from there Shakespearean text, all poems from anthology and there 18th century novel in their heads. If revising for every exam isn’t enough you currently have to remember English quotes. This not only doesn’t test your knowledge but is just a strain on the minds of children nationally. It’s pointless and makes the English GCSE not a test of knowledge but a test of memory. This should and needs to change. Children should be able to have an unannotated copy of extracts needed or poems needed. It is the equivalent of making children remember the periodic table for Chemistry and you get a copy of this in your exam, so why change it for English! Completely unnecessary and pointless when it comes to testing knowledge.
