The constant repetition of form filling and face to face ordeals worsens the mental health of existing claimants.  This brings about relapses in their mental wellbeing which in turn places extra unnecessary strain and cost on the GP the community mental health teams A and E and mh crisis teams.

Whenever I receive another long and unwelcome form, I feel panic, distress and fear. These forms appear designed with strangely worded questions that feel like accusations.  I have been claiming for a very long time.  I will never be well enough to return to work.  Every day I am aware of these facts by the limitations of my condition.  It should be enough for the DWP to get a rubber stamp from my GP once every few years to confirm nothing has changed.  The wastage of Taxpayers hard earned cash with these checks and procedures is abhorrent.  The most vulnerable people in society are being made to suffer when we have enough to endure just getting through each day.  Yes I  know there are benefit cheats out there.  Its very hard to be allocated adequate support for diagnosed mental health problems thanks to cuts to support services countrywide The probability that a person could invent and maintain a fake mental health problem that a GP would not be able to, over a period of time to recognise is very low.  Most people when they actually get a GP appointment will be asking for real help with genuine symptoms which they are worried by and concerned about.  Mr Prime Minister show your country you trust your General Practitioners to do their jobs.  Make the Benefits Agencies providers of a service and not a blunt instrument to attack vulnerable and  sick individuals who basically are dealing with strong medications endless medical appointments and side effects of medication which can leave your mental comprehension extremely difficult at the best of times.

Tax payers, of which in many claimants households there are some.  Will be getting better value from their taxes if the time and money being wasted by the production and processing of these pointless questionnaires was spent helping produce a system of support instead that would reduce repeated admissions to hospitals again at huge cost. This could free up gp and mh team resources for new patients.
