Imran Safi, born in Afghanistan, came to the UK in 2008 as a refugee. He was child 15 when he came, but since got married in Afghanistan and wanted good future for his wife and children so he brought them here.

He has never had any issues with the law.

His son had an accidental fall down the stairs where, at the time, it appeared that the injuries, on the head and lower arm, were not too bad, so the mother use ice therapy and the child appeared to be content so did not think to take him anywhere.

A few days later they noticed his condition worsened so they called an ambulance and had him conveyed to the hospital. Because of the injuries, they were reported to social services and the children were taken away, even the baby who was only a few day old.

The parents did not know what to do, they were given a solicitor through legal aid and they never had any previous dealings with solicitors before so they just assumed that everything would be fine and they would get their children back. The solicitors never bothered to represent them correctly

The family was threatened by social services that they will take all the children and they will never see any of their children again if they get other people involved to help them fight the case. Even their own solicitor made the same claim and on top of the solicitors firm never defended their case so the court ended up taking all the children off them. They were branded as worse than criminals so if they have any future children, they would also be taken.

Due to the threats received from social services and the solicitors, the family did not know their actual rights. Mr Safi was desperate to see his children but was refused and was told that they will be adopted and split to different families. He was told there would be no contact with the children, initially they were allowed to see the children through supervised contact centre visits but later refused that as well.

This family has been broken by Social Services, has been failed by the system, lost their children, the children have lost their parents and lost precious time they could have had together.

Mr Safi abducted 3 out of 5 of his children out of desperation as they stopped his visits for a total of 2 months. He did the wrong thing by taking the law in to his own hands but in his eyes, the law and everyone else had failed him so he could not stop what he was doing out of love for his children.

Mr Safi is not a bad parent, he has just been facing stressful and difficult times where he does not know how to cope. He deserves a chance for the time he has been in this country and never did anything bad. His family members are business owners and he built his future for his children so do not let it just get ruined for something that happened which is not his fault.

Everyone that knew the family in Croydon and Ilford knew the parents were good parents. Yet the social workers discriminated against them due to the language barrier and singled them out, the social workers wanted to traffic out the children, it is just a business for them, they are doing to this to many children. These social workers concocted lies about this family just to run their family for money and their own benefits. Even the police believe there is no threat to the children even after Mr Safi abducted them.

Please sign this for the sake of saving this family and any other families in this position.
