During the pandemic, nursery staff and children have been constantly overlooked.
In the last few changes to lockdown restrictions, Nurseries have either had no guidance or have been told to remain open as the risk is not deemed high. 

However children under the age of 5, do not understand social distancing rules and are in close proximity to adults in the nursery working environment. Asking a child to adhere to social distancing rules is incomprehensible to under 5’s. 

Therefore both children and staff are at extreme risk of the virus. We do not know enough of this new variant of Covid-19 to know whether children are at risk or not, as well as impacting the staff’s potential health. 

Please help me to send this petition to Boris Johnson to urge him to include the closures of  Nurseries down during lockdown.
