This petition exists to gain support for freedom of speech, an essential liberty for a country, Currently in the UK we have restrictions on free speech, (e.g: hate speech, offensive jokes, grossly offensive comments). All of these are classifications of speech that come with them emotions, A key argument people use to argue free speech. By signing this petition you agree that:

A person should have the ability to say whatever they would like to express without the fear of prosecution and other legal consequences.

The aim of this petition is to have the right to free speech codified into UK law.

This will also affect the press, giving them full rights to say what they see fit. Socially we can speak with our wallets and if a press outlet is found to be corrupt and lying, we choose to no longer consume that media.

If what someone says offends you, you have the full right to offend back. Should you be attacked for expression your opinion, you can press charges as usual.
