With Covid impacting the world and the increase of mental health related issues, we need to focus on exercise. Not being restricted to the inside of your house, where you will be for a month or maybe more.  It is important we exercise outside with the elements and benefit from feeling energised in the fresh air!!! 
Keeping active outside is a natural antidepressant. Outdoor exercise can help ward off seasonal affective disorder (SAD), depression and anxiety because sunshine/natural light naturally increases serotonin, a hormone that affects your mood.
Here are some reasons the government should allow outdoor exercise groups to continue through Lockdown.

1.Exercise itself produces endorphins, another feel-good hormone that boosts your mood and reduces pain.

2.It also challenges your body. When exercising on ever-changing outdoor terrain, your body is more challenged than when it is working out on a flat indoor surface.


3.It provides mental relief. Many people feel a lot of tension about working out, losing weight and lowering their blood pressure.

4.It lowers blood pressure and reduces stress. Studies have shown that physical activity outdoors lowers a person's blood pressure and heart rate. As a result, exercise outdoors feels less strenuous than similar exercise indoors, which, in turn, pushes you closer to your maximum performance.

5.When you exercise outdoors, you get fresh air which helps to alleviate insomnia. Regular exercise and fresh air will help you to fall asleep and improve the quality of your sleep!
 

6.All in all, outdoor exercise benefits the whole body by bringing joy, well-being and a better mood! Outdoor exercise is enjoyable and feels more like play than a chore.

As a trainer/coach I have seen the benefits first hand from my clients for 6 years, Through every season. As humans we thrive in nature, the outside. We are not meant to be locked up and through these very difficult times we need the opportunity to release energy in the outdoors. 

Please look at this with a vision for the UK population and help save lives to mental health issues caused by a winter lockdown.
 
Us trainers are educated, we understand social distancing and have everything in place to provide a safe platform for the people we are training through these difficult times.
