Paul Worsley started this petition to Boris Johnson (Prime Minister) and

The live music industry is currently on it's knees begging for help. From the big Arenas such as the Manchester Arena and London's O2 Arena down to the grass roots venues where many of today's musical heroes began their journeys. Everyone is struggling with the effects of the Covid19 lockdown. Many venues have been closed since the end of March with staff furloughed or laid off as a result. This is an industry which contributes billions to the UK economy every year and never asks for anything in return. We help provide that little ray of sunshine in the lives of many people across the country and we are in danger of being left behind and forgotten about in the race to get the UK back open for business. We were one of the first industries to be affected by the outbreak and we are likely to be the last to get back to "normal", whatever that may look like. A national campaign has started today to raise awareness of the issues we are facing and I thought a petition might be another way to get people involved. Thousands of jobs are at risk and it would be a devastating blow to the industry from which we may never recover. Please sign the petition and help us get back to doing what we do best.
