In England, we need a Mobile And Home Based Close Contact Services Fund, to match Scotland. Many Mobile and home based professionals have missed out on any help from the government to cover business related expenses. The arg or discretionary grant have been left for each council to dictate who is eligible and unfortunately many, including my own, have chosen to exclude mobile or home based businesses.

As a mobile beauty therapist, I may not have a premises to pay rent on however that does not mean we do not have business expenses that still need to be paid. The SEISS is 80% of business profits, this does not include expenses such as business insurance, products, equipment, subscriptions, phone bills, car costs etc which all still need paying even when our businesses are closed. Many business owners, myself included have incurred debts to help them stay above ground since March last year.

Scotland recognized that mobile and home based businesses needed extra support and I was hoping that England would too however in today’s budget announcement once again we have been excluded for any start up grants.
