Do NOT cancel Exams in 2021

The Government had promised with a "Cast Iron Guarantee" that exams would go ahead in Summer 2021.  Suddenly out of the blue they have closed schools and cancelled exams yet its only early January.  

Children have already suffered enough and for the PM to announce this yesterday was a shock to most and no doubt caused countless sleepless nights across the country with poor year 11 and 13 left feeling hopeless and betrayed by our Government.  

We must not overplay the COVID issue over all else and ignore the future generation.

Last year it was accepted that the way the Government cancelled exams was a fiasco and they admitted as such and vowed not to do so again.  Yet here we are some 9 months later to see deja-vu. It was irresponsible to announce this yesterday with no plan to tell our children.

This must be reversed and the Governenment must be strong and find a way to make exams work, through delaying to August or through cancelling Easter holidays or a mix of exams and coursework.
