Hello. My name is Tamilla, and I would like to explain why our petition is important both for students' mental health and their results in exams.

When teachers or schools provide students with homework during exams, many statistical data show that in the past few years there has been a decrease in the grades that students are achieving in exams and how their mental health has changed negatively, providing evidence, that homework should not be given during exam periods.

Now, do not get us wrong. Even though our petition is about not providing students with homework, we still think that it is important to set homework outside of exam periods as this will help them in class and not miss out on learning outside of school. However, this has also caused a problem too. Many students, across schools, colleges and university's have said that teachers have been giving out too much homework and are unable to have their free time, away from learning, and this is also evidence of a high increase in mental health problems across many teenagers and young adults, so our intention is to also make sure that schools, colleges and university's are setting reasonable amounts of homework so that it both let's students learn and progress but also give them a bit of their own time. Another set of statistical data had provided us with information that especially during COVID-19, teachers have been setting twice the amount of homework which had caused stress and anxiety amongst many students. This had also happened in our school which had changed, my and many other students that I know of progress and exam results negatively, which is why it is important for us that as many people as possible sign our petition.

We want the whole world to interact with us and express their opinions regarding our petition by signing it. If we are able to get 100 or more signatures then this will have a huge, positive impact on students' progress in learning and their results in exams. Parents, help your child get the most out of their learning and help them achieve their desired results by signing our petition and we promise that if we get many signatures supporting us, we will try to lobby this to the government and not stop until our petition is taken to account and actions will take place towards it.
