PHILLIP HAMMOND is to be given a seat in the House of Lords despite being expelled from the Conservative party over Brexit. He tried to bring down the Government. He resisted  Brexit at every twist and turn, demanding a ''soft'' version of what the people had voted for. To reward this man for actively trying to thwart negotiations, by  the Prime Minister seems ludicrous. Phillip Hammond disagreed with Brexit, and has tried to thwart it for years. He was unhappy with the result as voted for by the British people, and used his position to steer the Brexit negotiations as far away from our leaving the European Union, as he could. 

We feel that there shouldn't be an automatic right to the peerage, because a person has been a Chancellor of the Exchequer. There are Prime Ministers who have not accepted a peerage, and it is an insult to all of us who voted to leave the EU to see this Europhile rewarded for just that, being a Europhile. It is time the people had a say over this.
