Thousands of children all over the country are being failed by the social care system. In recent light, a little boy called Arthur Labinjo-Huges has suffered tragically at the hands of people who was supposed to look after his well-being. He was failed by the Social Services when the social workers found "no concern". HE WAS SIX YEARS OLD!!! He was subject to inhumane abuse and torture by his own father and his step-mother! The details of his death are harrowing! 

Many children are suffering and the hands of people who are supposed to protect them. There needs to be a new law brought in that gives social workers more power/authority to help young children who are at risk of and/or suffering harm or abuse. Risk factors need to be heightened and more awareness to help these young people. 

We need to make a change to protect children and young people and make an impact on their lives, not waiting around for something tragic to happen like what has happened to little Arthur! 

My aim in this petition is so that it is heard, and changes are made within the social care system to prevent these failings from happening again! Too many children have lost their lives due to a social worker either not acting in the child's best interest, or due to the social worker not having the power/authority to protect a young child.

No child should suffer, no child should be scared! Every child deserves to be heard and looked after by the people who are suppose to love and protect them! Their cries for help are being missed and dismissed!
