Florence Taglight started this petition to UK Parliament

It is hard to put into words - I have a rage and sadness in me. A rage that has been ignited due to the governments recent plans to put calories on menu’s, and blast covers of newspapers with diets and ‘fat phobic threats’. I am turning my anger and frustration into action.

Over 1.25 million people in the U.K suffer from an eating disorder. The government seem to think that putting calories on menu’s of restaurants will help people to become healthier. The government should put money and time into education around food and lifestyle, rather than focus on numbers. Diets don’t work - that is why it is such a lucrative industry. Adding calories to menus will only heighten disordered eating behaviours in those already struggling, and initiate  them in other people. Boris why are you ignoring a whole sector of the country?

You can help me to fight this together. Please sign this petition and DM @bantheukdiet on IG a message that you would like to tell The Government about the dangers of putting calories on menus, and the diet messages they are telling us. I want to EVERYONE (of every race, culture, age and industry involved children, adults, nurses, staff, hospital workers, teachers, therapists, supermarket clerks anyone who is human,) to tell me, and the world why this is going to cause more harm than good.
