With another national lockdown, we are only allowed to go out for specific reasons, including exercise, which can be done with one other person from another household outside. This discriminates against primary aged children and under as few parents would let these children exercise outside with another child unsupervised.

I know how the lockdown in Spring 2020 affected the mental and physical health of my children. Schools closed and they missed their friends. An exemption to the exercise rule for young children would allow them to meet a friend for a socially distanced walk or run and let them have vital social support over the next long weeks of lockdown, that the rest of us may already enjoy.
