Javed Hussain started this petition to Boris Johnson (Prime Minister) and

Highly concerned that the UK government has included Pakistan on the red list without any data being published to support the governments decision. There are a number of countries with higher infection rates per 100,000 which are not currently on the red list. The gov website states that this decision has been made due to a increased risk of importation of variants of concern.

Majority of the people travelling to Pakistan have family ties and have travelled as per the governments allowed rules.

We therefore request that this matter is debated in parliament and the government publish all information and data used to make this decision. This should include specific details of these different variants and their prevalence and how the government came to this decision without adding countries with higher infection rates.

Many families will not be able to afford the hotel quarantine requirements at such a immense cost. Due to this many children will not be able to attend school and many businesses will be effected, or jobs will be lost.

We request that the government provides the following:

1. Full data be published of how the government came to this decision with details of variants and full statistics. The data should include details of countries not on the red list.

1. Is the UK government willing to provide financial support for anyone not able to return due to financial circumstances, or not able to quarantine in a hotel due to ill health.

2. Will the UK government provide repatriation flights for their citizens as their are currently no flights available until the deadline.

3. Can the UK government extend the 9th April deadline and provide repatriation flights for all British citizens/ UK residents who cannot afford the hotel quarantine package.
