Mr. Abdur Razzak is a member of Border Guard Bangladesh who was posted near the Myanmar Border at Naikkhanchhari area. When he and his team were patroling at Naf river on 16th June, 2015 morning, they found a boat suspicious in nature and thus wanted to stop it for checking. All of a sudden the members of Border Guard Police came patrolling claiming that BGB has entered their territory which is not right. Without any warning they started open fire on BGB members and at a point Nayek Badur Razzak fell on the water. The members of BGB had to retreat at that point but Abdur Razzak was captured from the waters of Naf river and was then abducted.
2 days later, his picture came out on the official facebook page of Border Guard Police mentioning him as a tress-passer. There were blood mark on his nose which also proves that he has been tortured. It is strictly against the Geneva Convention treaty. Under that treaty, if a member of a security force from another country is captured, arrested or found on some other country, he/she must be treated with respect and must be provded with preferable food. Publishing such a picture also destroys neighboring harmony.
A flag meeting (generally how dispute in border areas are resolved) was called for this issue with Myanmar many time but there was no suck response to it.
So with this petition, we demand release of Nayek Abdur Razzak from Myanmar immediately.
