Dancing and Mingling should be allowed at indoor weddings
Why this petition matters
As much as we appreciate the hard efforts by Dr. Bonnie Henry and the BC Government, there are some major inconsistencies when it comes to our Re-opening plan. We would love to see one thing change before our Sept 7th Stage 4 plan of re-opening.
The one thing that we would love to have changed for all of the couples getting married this summer, would be the rule on no dancing and mingling at an indoor event. This would be a very understandable rule if everything else opening up around it stayed just as consistent, but unfortunately that is not the case. Gyms and exercise classes remain fully open, where masks are not required and strangers are amongst each other breathing heavily and sweating for hours. Malls and stores remain open at full capacity where people can shop amongst each other for as long as they wish. The only thing we ask is if we can dance and mingle amongst our own family and friends.
A wedding is about celebrating a couple beginning a whole new life together. We are not asking for an increase in numbers, all we ask for is to be able to dance, mingle and properly celebrate with our loved ones.
