There is currently heated debate regarding the allowance of Short-term rentals in Bonfield,Ontario.

A private lobby group is working to end all short term rentals in our community. They have asked Council to pass a by-law banning all short term rentals effective March 22,2022. This demand has been made without community consultation and is a blatant effort to turn the personal preferences of a few privilege people into public policy. The people of Bonfield  deserve better; Council must actively solicit the voices of all the people of Bonfield to ensure its position on this issue reflects the wants and needs of this entire community.

We are asking that council engage the community on all levels and ensure its policy reflects those voices. This process must be inclusive, transparent, and fair.

Short term rentals bring money and investment to the community; let the people of Bonfield decide if and how that is implemented, not just the privileged few. 

We are all “Good Neighbours” of Bonfield.   Your voice is imperative. We must speak loudly to Council and be heard. 

Sign the petition and demand council refuse to adopt the demand to ban short term rentals commencing March 22,2022. Demand that council invest in an extensive consultation process actively recruiting voices from every corner of this community, Bonfield is a “small community with a big heart” - a place where every heart matters.
