Dear Parents of children at Harvey Nursery,

As you may be aware, our nursery is at risk of being closed down in July 2021 due to funding cuts from the council. As one parent to another, I am writing to ask you all for help in keeping the nursery open.

Being without childcare and having to pay private nursey fees is a big concern for many parents with young children. Private nursery care is already extremely expensive, especially for those children under the age of 3. Expecting (working or non-working) parents to pay these fees up-front in order to keep a safe place for their child when other accessible childcare is not available, is unrealistic.

Nurseries give up-to, 40,000 children the fairest chance to get the best start at school. With many of the nurseries being situated in ideal locations for all, their closures will mean taking away early learning opportunities from many children. After years and years of underfunding, the survival of funded nurseries are under threat. Unfortunately across England, only 389 nurseries remain open. This is why we need your help to keep Harvey Nursery open.

Harvey Nursery has a rich history of over 40 years of being the beating heart of the local community for early years children, serving thousands of multicultural families in the local area. The staff at Harvey Nursery have prided themselves on being every child’s happy place, including yours and mine. They have provided a safe, nurturing and positive environment and happy faces all around!

During one of the most difficult years of our lives, the staff at Harvey Nursery have been fighting tirelessly to keep the nursery open by helping and supporting key worker families within the pandemic, whilst other nurseries closed. Even now, when all other education settings are closed, they are selflessly working on keeping our children safe and giving each child their right to play and learn during these uncertain times.

This nursery is and has been our children’s second home and we cannot allow the council to take this from them and make them homeless. For many parents, the staff have been more like family, there to be a support in any way they can and will massively impact many if closed.

Help us to be the voice of our children and say 'NO' to the closure of Harvey Nursery. Help us to save the future of our children!

By signing this petition we can make thousand of families happy. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we really hope you can all get on board to save our nursery.
