Because the death of a loved one is tragic enough in itself without having to worry about finances. The last thing I would ever wish on someone who is grieving and trying to heal is for them to have to worry about how they are going to pay the bills. Also, as a Chicagoan and this being a Chicago based company, I especially support this petition.

IT IS ONLY FAIR AND REASONABLE. I CAN'T BELIEVE BOEING WOULD EVEN THINK OF DOING IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

If a company is willing to provide a pension program to different-sex married couples, they should also be providing for same-sex married couples if their reason is to provide "protection and peace of mind that comes with survivor benefits".

I am a stockholder in Boeing and I strongly support non-discriminatory pay and benefits packages. Since Washington will legally recognize same-sex marriages, these marriages shoud be treated by employers in the same way as they treat opposite-sex marriages. To treat them differently is to discriminate!!!

Because extending pension survivor benefits to all partners is the right thing to do.
