Stop Outsourcing at The Maui News
Stop Outsourcing at The Maui News
We hear often about how newspapers aren’t for younger generations. Rest assured that isn’t true — at least not in Maui County.
We live here. We know an informed community is a strong community. We want The Maui News to remain a vital part of our lives.
That means we need workers from our small community doing the jobs that keep the paper strong. We want news and sports coverage, sales and service to be done by our friends and neighbors. It’s important not just because we want those jobs to stay here (though we do!), but because we need those jobs to be done by people familiar with our community.
To decision-makers at The Maui News, and to those who own the Ogden chain in West Virginia: Work with your people to ensure Maui County gets the newspaper it needs and make sure our generations, and the ones that follow, have the community we all deserve. We are counting on you, and we’ll be watching the decisions that impact us.
