The idea of having a debate is to exchange information through conflict. However, this exchange of information has been lost due to people not knowing how to properly hold a debate. By introducing the art of debating into public education, rather than being a club/outside activity, the ideas of students can be expanded and brought into a new light. This will create a diverse environment in schools and communities.

The core of the debate is one of respect however it can be seen in media and even in public, a debate quickly turns into a shouting match that gets nothing done. By having debates become part of the public education system, the level of respect for different ideas will increase and more people will feel confident in voicing their ideas.
