The CMAS is an international federation recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). One of the IOC recommendations of 28 February 2022, on the protection of athletes and the good name of international sports organisations, was to suspend event organisations on Russian or Belarusian territory and to suspend invitations or allow Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials to participate in international competitions.

To protect the reputation and interests of the CMAS and to show our solidarity with the people of Ukraine, we request the suspension of the CMAS membership of the Russian Underwater Federation and the Belarus Underwater Federation and their official member representatives.
