IPL 2018 - Indian Parity League (Women Included)

This petition had 30 supporters

Can an Indian women be as good a cricketer as her male counterpart? Why can't the IPL become the most unique cricket tournament in the world by allowing women cricketers to be part of the team. From 2018 edition of IPL onwards, at least 1-2 women player(s) to be included every team! What better way to show to the world that we Indians not only truly believe in women empowerment but also practice it! Today, the most exposed avatar of women on IPL is as cheerleaders! Isn't this propagating the divide and misconceptions? Granted that there are female commentators, and hostesses too, but why not in the sport itself? Wouldn't it drive TRP's too? Wouldn't more women be interested in watching it? If Dangal can inspire millions of women, imagine what inclusion of women players into IPL will do for their confidence, their stature and their struggle against Indian machoism. Of course, it would be performance based and it would be up to each team to bid for their shortlisted women players. Surely, an Indian women is as good a cricketer as her male counterpart?
