Dear Supporters,

Hello and hope all is well. We are getting closer to our goal of 1500 signatures. Please share the petition with others who will be supportive of signing if you have not already done so.

There are area Confederate sympathizers who, in their pride for what the Confederacy represented and their unabashed white supremacy, are actively blitzing the local newspaper, the Caswell Messenger, to influence public opinion. Unfortunately, the newspaper has zero ethics on this issue and week after week publishes their vitriol in the letters to the editor section. These white supremacists are doing the same in lobbying the Caswell County government. It is un-American and morally wrong. If the Confederacy had won, slavery would not have ended possibly until the mid-20th century if at all. Their actions, and the actions of those who are complicit in giving them a platform, spit in the face of social justice and all that was sacrificed to save the United States of America from collapse at that time in history. 

A cause, if it is just, often must defend itself from the tyranny of the majority, and in helping the disenfranchised, speak to the greater good of what human beings should be at our best. Our cause is just and I thank you so much for letting others know about it.
