Victoria Lartey started this petition to Board of Bishops of the AME Zion Church
The problem is the illegal removal of a historic Black church from the community that it has helped to empower and expand.

With an investigation done by the Board of Bishops of the AME Zion Church to determine the illegal move that this petition is attempting to address.

I started this petition because...
I grew up in this church for over 20 years. This church and the community has been a giant staple in my development as a young Black woman in today's society. I was there when there was nothing but gravel parking lots and abandoned buildings, so to now see all the growth and change the church has made through community development projects and initiatives is a beautiful thing.

This corner is significant to so many people for so many different reasons. I am afraid that if this church is sold, the story of triumph, perseverance, and Black excellence will be lost to the rapid growth of gentrification, which can already be seen at the end of the same street. We must preserve this church, it's legacy, and the next chapter that has not yet been written for the sake of our people, our community, and our existence.

Goler Memorial is not for sale.
