Save Northampton Valley Country Club from Development of 100-150 New Homes!

We need your help in saving Northampton Valley County Club from development of over 100-150 houses. We want it to stay as open space!

Did you know that the Northampton Valley Country Club is for sale? The club was founded over 50 years ago. Since then the site has hosted our weddings, birthday celebrations, memorable summers at the pool and endless hours unwinding on the golf course. The club has been a profitable community treasure for many Northampton families, providing a venue for our events and leisure, while offering local jobs within our community, and now it is for sale.

Developers have offered more than $18 million dollars to the Northampton Valley Country club with plans to destroy the landscape and add possibly more than 100-150  additional homes. Homes that will funnel through our residential streets and lead directly out on to Newtown Richboro Road and potentially Twining Ford Road, which community members know is already incredibly overcrowded during commute times. Aside from the congestion, these development plans will displace wildlife, leaving them to search again for a place to call home. As their habitats are carved up, they will leave in search of a safe place, venturing out onto our road ways. These ecosystems are crucial and have been unprotected by our community over the last few decades.

Aside from the development plans, Northampton Township has been in talks to purchase the property. They would acquire the property at a lower price than the developers are offering, nearly $5 million less, and maintain the club and its functions with some minor improvements. Jobs would be retained as well as the disappearing landscape. The revenue from the club will pay for the purchase so there will no impact on property taxes. Our local officials have voted 3-1 to sign a letter of intent. We are asking for your support at our upcoming township meeting to voice your opinion and help us save the Northampton Valley Country Club and the beautiful landscape that makes our township desirable.

I am reaching out to the members of this community to create awareness and gather support in favor of preserving the land and greenery that is quickly disappearing in our community. If you want to help us preserve what little space we have left while keeping our traffic volumes down within the residential neighborhoods and on main commuter roads, please join our Facebook group, Preserve Northampton Valley Country Club, and come make your voice heard at our next Township Supervisor Meeting on May 23rd, 2018 at the Administration building on Township Line Road.  Sign this petition to show your support of the purchase of Northampton Valley Country Club by Northampton Township.

Your care and concern will make a difference and now is the time to support your Township in the preservation of our community. Thank you for taking the time to support this local cause.
