Blue Ridge Mountain EMC won't release its Cost of Service Study! WHY?

0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!

Blue Ridge Mountain EMC hired a consultant, Chris Mitchell, to conduct a Cost of Service Study. It was because of this study that Blue Ridge Mountain Electric claims it decided to change its rates. In addition, this study did not go out for bid.

BRMEMC refuses to make this study public.  We have asked  Board Members and the General Manager several times to make it public.  They have refused.  Why?  Co-op members monies paid for this study.

On Wednesday September 4, 2019, pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Law (O.C.G.A § 50-18-70 et seq.), requests for this study, as well as requests made of the TVA and approval by the TVA for the upcoming rate change, were delivered to BRMEMC  via Mr. Jeremy Nelms, General Manager.  The Georgia Open Records Law requests specify a reply within three business days of receipt.  A reply has not been forthcoming with regard to either request.

WHY WON'T BRMEMC MAKE THIS INFORMATION PUBLIC TO ITS MEMBERSHIP? What is it hiding?

BRMEMC promises transparency, but has not delivered.

We are signing this petition requesting that BRMEMC release publicly the Cost of Service Study by Chris Mitchell, explain why this study did not go out for bid, and to release all information with regards to its request to the TVA and approval by the TVA for its rate structure change.
