The blue light card has been a fantastic help to those who have been on the front line during the recent pandemic and allows everyone who is in a caring position to benefit from discounts... Except for the forgotten few.

Although social care workers are included, Foster carers are not, we work 24hrs a day / 7 days a week / 365 days a year  alongside social care workers and strive to provide life changing experiences and comfort to the children in our care.

Over the last year or more we have written numerous emails and paid our membership fees to try and get this reconsidered but it seems to fall on deaf ears, so this is our way of trying to shout a little louder.

Having acces to the blue light card would mean that the discounts they provide could be used to help us afford more for looked after children in our care as well as showing that we are valued contributors to front line work.

Therefore we need to get blue light card to acknowledge and allow us to use our Foster carer status (both Foster carers within an indipendant fostering agency and those working for local authorities) to apply for a blue light card. 

Even if you are not a Foster carer yourself, signing and sharing this will help us get the traction we need to highlight this small but significant change to their policy.
