For many students, Bloomsburg University is like a second home where lifelong friendships are made. For others, bad memories lie here, due to possible sexual assaults that can occur on campus. This past October, a female student was kidnapped and raped on upper campus. The university only issued a mandatory "Timely Warning/BU Alert" that goes out whenever such an event occurs. No other statements were made by BU administrators or the president himself. 

The university NEEDS to take action on this matter. It is not something to just sweep under the rug like yesterday's news. As students, we are supposed to feel safe on this campus. We pay thousands of dollars each year for our safety, something that is obviously not being afforded to us. 

I am speaking directly to the President of Bloomsburg University in asking that action needs to be taken! We need more cameras and a stronger presence of security on campus, especially upper campus! This needs to be a priority! These assaults are not a rare occurrence, it's just that the majority are not reported. We need more lights, more cameras, and better safety for our campus! DO SOMETHING!
