I believe bike lines are integral for building and sustaining a healthy community. I bike 12 miles a day to and from work, Bloomington to Normal, and see it as a feasible mode of transportation to get anywhere in the Twin Cities. This is only possible, however, with safe lanes for bicycles between destinations.

In these times, any transportation infrastructure efforts should consider and accomodate non-motorized means of transport. Go Bikes!!

With all of the cyclists in this town I am amazed at the lack of bike lanes. If you build them, they will be used.

Though I live in Normal, I frequently shop and dine in downtown Bloomington, and I prefer to ride my bike to get there. We need safer biking and walking routes along Main Street. Thanks!

Downtown Bloomington is the perfect place to create a pedestrian/bike friendly environment. It's not well-suited to cars because of parking issues, and it's a good place to wander along and enjoy the shops.

Since Constitution Trail doesn't go into Downtown Bloomington, a bike lane on Main would offer a great alternative for getting downtown on two wheels.

I would like to be able to safely travel from Normal to Bloomington with my family, including my twin daughters who are almost 10. On streets with cars and no lanes I have had cars back out of driveways and almost hit me, cars tailgate me and cut me off, car doors open in my path, and have had a hard time crossing major streets because novices like me do not pedal that fast. I have traveled to many communities across the country that have bike paths and this would be one of the must haves for any community that I would move to. I am sure this would be something that would draw more healthy environmentally friendly residents to our cities!
