It's the council's (government's) duty to provide these spaces for us all.

In the earlier years of my brain tumour I found things very difficult when I had to manoeuvre. However I attended Blackpool Sports Centre on a weekly basis. Where I sat down amongst others with physical disabilities (differently abled) to prove my worth in the game of Boccia. This was not only a great networking moment but it was also a warm up practice for those amongst us who were professional Boccia players & would go to local, national & sometimes International venues for this sport. Fate has dealt us a nasty card, leaving us with lesser opportunities, don’t take this too please 

Typical isn't it, for the council to do something devastating and detrimental, as to knock down something as valuable and resourceful as this seems to be in the area? Why not combine and have their said facilities in with it perhaps, instead of wasting valuable council tax and the like, by knocking it down! Shameful and disgusting! Sorry to say but it is! They should hang their heads in shame the lot of them!

There are enough soft play areas in Blackpool. We need to keep hold of proper sports facilities. Blackpool has one of the highest child obesity rates in the country and a soft play area and cafe will not help! Honestly think about what you are doing!

Same problem in Exeter, tge capital city of Devon and there is no undercover area for athletics, roller derby etc etc etc. They have closed venues years ago!!! The roller derby have to hire sports halls in a little town in North Devon or Taunton in Somerset !!! It’s all about flats that are ruining the city. All the council think about is building more and more student flats but there are not enough students to fill them ????
No care for sport to entertain all these people and nowhere for sport training except school halls which are not big enough. Shortsighted,
Ignorant and uninterested in people’s needs.

This sports facility should be kept at a two hall complex to provide the service it needs for the amount of Blackpool residents

As others have said, there are plenty of children's play areas here, not many purpose-built local gyms.

I’m from that area and Blackpool always has to fight to get or retain things that other communities are provided with with relative ease!

I use this hall every afternoon for students of a PRU.
