A petition to put forward to the Mackay Regional Council to install MUCH needed lighting in the area and CCTV at our parks.

I am sure by now you have all heard the unfortunate news of young 17 year old William Baker’s passing on Black’s Beach road.

Even though William was in the wrong nobody deserves to lose there life & everybody makes mistakes when we are young, picture this was your son or loved one. � 

Especially when tragedies like this may be avoided with adequate lighting in the area!

This area as well as Eimeo road and countless others in the region are very dangerous at night and as Tax payers we should be entitled to were our money goes and it will when the community band together and work as a team!

On another note - Our parks, In particularly the William Baker Memorial Park (Skate Park) & Beach where a lot of young people hang out at night desperately need lights.

Kids will be kids and they are going to hang around at night regardless of where there parents think they are and it is our duty to keep them as safe as possible.

CCTV is also very important and been proven to work extremely well at our Sugar Bowl Skate Park in North Mackay, massively reducing Graffiti, bullying, fighting, littering etc.
