Malik Selby started this petition to Black politicians

For over 200 years, black people have suffered racial violence, there was a time when we had no legal avenues to obtain justice, but now that we have politicians that are black, a lot of that should have changed, but it hasn't. There shouldn't be a black politician in our government who isn't quick to take against any injustice that targets our people, but they are pathetically quiet and this needs to change. It is not racist to take a stand to protect your people from oppression. Either these black politicians are afraid to take a stand or they are just too comfortable and don't want to mess up a "good thing" for themselves. They need to stand against oppression or resign. Why are they really in politics? There is a big difference between a politician and a public servant; a politician campaigns on platforms that they feel the people want most, but what people are they really helping? They have personal agendas, as well as, political ones that don't include the needs of the people. A public servant is self-explanatory. Most, if not all, black politicians got into office because of the black vote, so how is it that black people still have no real voice in government? This must change. If you won't stand for your own who are suffering, resign and open the position for someone who will. We need to hold our leaders accountable for their actions as well as their inaction.
