Anti-black racism and racial profiling by the police exists and is an issue here in Canada. The unnecessary violence and brutality police officers enforce that result in injury and/or death of thousands of people of African origin. Police should be trusted and reliable. No one should have to fear the police and be scared for their lives. People should not be a target, simply for the colour of their skin. By defunding and rehabilitating the police, we fight to take attention and justice for those lives lost and at risk every single day.
