Lesley Anne Field started this petition to Blaby District Council

On the 6th June 2019 Blaby District Council refused planning permission for the mobile homes on The Stables and Field View Park, Kirk Lane, Enderby for civilian use. They previously accepted these plans for the occupancy by gypsy and travellers.

As UK civilians we have a right to choose to live in these mobile homes. The community spirit between us is amazing, people who do not live but visit the sites always, compare this to how it used to be. The children have the freedom to be children they all play together safely outside not stuck inside on modern technology which most children are today. There is always someone to talk to, offer advice and assistance.

As the planning permission has been refused by Blaby DC, 25 families are now at risk of being made homeless. The majority of these families have young children that are in school in the local community some of which are in secondary school about to start their GCSEs, the upheaval of changing schools and moving schools will be distressing and reflective on their grading.  Blaby DC have informed us that the homelessness team are on standby to take calls however they do not guarantee us being rehoused. We also have single adults down here that will not be rehoused as they do not re home single people in general. There are pensioners who reside on this sites who have chosen to live there twilight years in peace and harmony will also be distressed by this.

We are asking the general public to assist us in our fight to save not only our homes but our community. Thank you from all of us here for the support we have received so far and those that will support us in the future #saveourcommunity
